Adventures in Sharn
Luma-Rae is a young, girl at the age of 21. She is an only child who loves her parents dearly and grew up having a great childhood. Whilst growing up, Luma was taught by her parents to be an honorable and respectful young lady. She was also raised in the ways of the church, because her mother and father were very devout followers of the church. One day when Luma was at the age of 16, she went out for a long walk through her family’s large acres of land to walk amongst her favorite willow trees that were along the bank of a small pond. When she came back she found her home to be ransacked and her parents missing. In utter distraught, the only thing she could think to do was go to the nearest property to her family’s, which was about a mile away. She quickly ran to the stables to grab her young steed at the time, Powder, a gray horse with white speckles whom she’d had since she was about 13 years old, and rode him as fast as he could to the neighboring property. When she arrived she found Darlow outside his home, a middle aged man whom had been her neighbor and dear family friend ever since she could remember. He was collecting his harvest of vegetables for the day. She jumped off her horse and quickly approached the man. In a hurried tone and quivering voice, she asked her friend if he knew anything about her parent’s whereabouts. She started to cry uncontrollably and tell him about her homes condition before he could even get a word out, clutching the ring that her parents gave her, now adorned on a strand around her neck, the entire time. He felt sorry for her and awkwardly embraced her. He then told her that while he was in his home, he saw many horses with armored men rush by at an incredibly fast pace about an hour before she arrived. Darlow realized that the situation was probably more critical than the girl might understand and invited her to stay with him and his family for a while. When Luma-Rae hesitated, he insisted, knowing that she may be in danger as well. Luma stayed with the kind man and his family for a few months until she couldn’t handle the devastation of not knowing what happened to her parents. Assuming her parents had been either kidnapped our killed for their religious beliefs, led her towards the church to find out more about what her parents were so passionate about. She had to know if she could help keep others safe from being persecuted as well. She found herself at the church in the town of Seahaven where Abbott Michaels took in Luma and became a mentor and father figure to her.
